Screen time is becoming a growing issue in Canada, especially among teens, who spend an average of 5.2 hours a day on their phones. As Canada’s largest provider of personal devices, Rogers Communications launched Screen Break, a five-year program designed to tackle screen addiction head on. The campaign’s film confronted parents with the reality of teen screen time by having them watch a continuous five-plus-hour film made from recordings of their teens’ full day on their phones. To promote healthier balance, the campaign also featured interviews with athletes including Connor McDavid, George Springer, John Tavares, Sarah Nurse, Marie-Philip Poulin, and Trey Yesavage.
